Level 2 Meditation Course

First Class is Sept. 29, 2020

The Level 2 Meditation Course is available to students demonstrating greater proficiency and consistency in their practice. The main objective of this course is for students to find and begin to relate to God within themselves.

The course emphasis is that God is Love. We differentiate that this is not God affiliated with any religion. God is alive within each being regardless of your faith or belief. It is the task of the spiritual seeker to actively begin the journey to be united with God. We teach meditation as the most efficient and effective way to come into union with this Divine presence.

We will explore working directly with Light, the consciousness of the Soul, greater awareness of the Spiritual body, and Self. Each class will include a lecture/discussion followed by a 25 – 30 minute meditation. Some weeks the meditation is guided and some weeks it is silent. Students must consult with the Teacher and be invited in order to participate in Level 2 classes.

Participation in this course also includes receiving a 60 page course manual and flash drive containing multiple guided meditations for at-home practice.

Lesson topics for the Level 2 Meditation Classes include;

Week 1 – A Re-introduction to God (as an inner experience)

Week 2 – The Basis fior a Real Relationship with God

Week 3 – Working with Light

Week 4 – Prayer, God and Meditation

Week 5 – The Only Power is Love

Week 6 – Reducing Fear. Fear is the Enemy of Love

Week 7 – Increasing your Life Force Energies through Meditation

The Level 1 Meditation Course is an 8 week series where students meet 1 time per week for a 40 minute lecture and 20 minute guided meditation. The curriculum includes eight specific lessons to provide a basic technique that is relatively easy to learn (click here to download course syllabus).

Each lesson offers clear direction on how to practice the technique in order to gain significant benefits of relaxation and mental clarity as quickly as possible. The Level 1 Meditation Course explores some spiritual aspects of meditation but is primarily a non-religious approach to meditation designed to offer practical results for the metropolitan lifestyle.

The format of meeting once a week for eight weeks has been particularly effective in getting participants to a consistent practice that continues long after the course finishes. See Yelp reviews for objective feedback. (Note: experiencing the benefits of meditation is dependent on students practicing on their own in between classes)

To increase the chances of success, students are provided a series of recorded guided meditations on a USB drive (mp3 file format) as well as a course manual with lessons and exercises to work on in between classes. The course provides specific material in the manual designed to help apply your practice to areas of difficulty including Overcoming Sleep Issues, Reducing Anxiety, and Anger Management.

Class Format: Each week, a 40 minute lesson is given by the teacher in which students are encouraged to ask questions and share their ups and downs in meditation sessions for direct feedback. Each night we cover specific areas that will help you refine your practice and get stronger in your discipline to meditate regularly. Following the lesson will be a guided meditation that lasts 18 to 20 minutes.

Style of Meditation: The style taught in the Level 1 Meditation course is known as BMEM (Body, Mind, Emotions Meditation). It may be considered a hybrid of Mindfulness with the exploration into deeper states of consciousness.

Students learn how their bodies, emotions and especially their minds exert pressure throughout the day. By giving attention to these aspects while sitting quietly in meditation, the pressure is relieved and deeper states of relaxation are experienced relatively quickly.

Graduation Credit Available (optional) – Students may graduate from Level 1 Meditation.

Introductory Meditation Lecture and Guided Meditation

Every Saturday at 9:30 am (except holiday weekends i.e.day after Christmas, Labor Day etc) we offer the opportunity to explore our Charleston Meditation Center and learn a little about our meditation courses. You will hear a 30 minute lecture discussing BMEM meditation and then be guided through a 20 minute meditation in our studio. In case you’re wondering, we meditate sitting in chairs with back support! (Sitting cross legged on the floor is ok if you want too).
