Former Government Office to Become a Center for Yoga and Meditation

May 1, 2013

Meditate Yoga & Meditation Center announced today the signing of a lease for the commercial space at 4237 N. Lincoln Ave in the North Center neighborhood on Chicago’s Northside. After close to two years of vacancy since the 47th Ward Alderman’s Office moved two doors north to 4243 N. Lincoln Ave, business owner and meditation teacher, Andrew Shykofsky and property owners Betty and Matt Ruh finalized a lease for the ground floor storefront unit.

“I spent nearly 6 months searching for not only the best location but also a landlord who I felt would be a good long term partner,” said Shykofsky. “We wanted to be on the Northside and close to Lakeview, North Center and Lincoln Square. Betty and Matt’s place was truly the best of all worlds.”

The 1850 square foot complex will provide a good sized yoga studio, a private yoga room for individual instruction and a sound proof meditation studio with capacity for 20 students. “Our vision is to create the ideal neighborhood community space where those interested in both yoga and meditation can learn and take classes in both at the same place. Parking nearby is quite good and not metered!” Shykofsky said.

The Center is located directly across from the Jewel Osco on Lincoln near Montrose and is scheduled to open the first week in July.
